Teaching Evaluations
Since Fall 2022, 60 students from both the University of Rochester and the Rochester Education Justice Initiative have left me feedback about my teaching. Evaluations for both organizations include a mix of fixed-response and open-ended questions.
I’m honored that when asked to rate my overall performance as an instructor, 56 of 60 students gave me a 5 out of 5 – but I’m most proud of the things students had to say in their open-ended responses. Below are a few that I particularly enjoy and that I feel best illustrate my dedication to supporting students.
“This course made me want to take more advanced physics classes.”

“Makes you think of something bigger than yourself.”
Student in Spring 2023 How Things Work (REJI)
“He has good material and good delivery. The idea of a physics class is really intimidating, but he made things interesting and easier to comprehend and understand.”
Student in Spring 2023 How Things Work (REJI)
“Mr. Verostek’s ability to speak to us, not lecture or read from a book. His energy and passion were always high each time he was in front of our class. He always took his time, didn’t rush, fielded all questions we had, and if he didn’t know the answer (which was rare) he found the answer and brought it next class.”
Student in Spring 2023 How Things Work (REJI)
“Amazing. Goes above and beyond his job and is amazing.”
Student in Spring 2024 Mechanics (U of R)
“The course reader was extremely well-written, easy to read and comprehend. Mr. V never taught directly from the PHY textbook, all original lessons he planned. Great visuals using the limited labs we could do, always interesting, never dull or boring.”
